Special Areas of Interest: Osteosarcoma, plasma cell tumors, lymphoma, mast cell tumors, and investigating ways in which the immune system can be modified to better recognize and eliminate cancer cells.

Following completion of her residency training in 2011, Dr. Sternberg received fellowship funding to conduct osteosarcoma research at the University of Illinois. Prior to joining Lakeshore Veterinary Specialists, Dr. Sternberg provided medical oncology services in the western Chicago suburbs for 6 years. She has published journal articles and book chapters on topics including canine osteosarcoma, canine and feline liver tumors, and canine and feline plasma cell cancer/multiple myeloma. She enjoys working with other specialists, including veterinary surgeons and radiation oncologists, to optimize treatment plans for each patient. She believes that quality of life for her patients is of primary importance.

Dr. Sternberg grew up in Brookfield and is excited to return home to Wisconsin with her husband, daughter, and cats. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, fitness, and attending sporting events.
